Camp Emails

  • TBA

Your troop will receive a welcome packet with your program schedule, patches, and other important items upon arrival Friday or Saturday.

Troops are encouraged to arrive any time beween 4:30 and 6:30 pm on May 9.  If you want to arrive earlier, just let me know and we will make arrangements.  Ideally, all overnight campers will have arrived before 7 p.m.  I will know who is there because there is a …

VERY IMPORTANT MANDATORY MEETING at 7 p.m. on May 10.  All campers and adults must report to the Play Field (see map!). We will have a ROLL CALL of troops (please have your troop ready to respond to their troop number), some fun activities, and one designated adult must participate in a mandatory review of safety procedures, a head count, and assignment of check-out times.  The mandatory meeting will be done by 8:30, which is close to sundown so make sure all campers bring a flashlight or headlamp to this meeting

Meals: Your group will be preparing your own meals at this campout. Make sure your troop is prepared for any meals and snacks you’ll need during your time at camp. For Saturday lunch, we strongly recommend preparing a sack lunch so you don’t have to rush back to your unit to cook a meal.

Outdoor units are equipped with propane burners, dish tubs, and some pots and pans. Indoor units are equiped with cooking and eating dishes as well as stoves and refrigerators. Troops should plan to bring whatever is needed for outdoor cooking, including stuff like can openers, additional pots and pans as needed, etc.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: Storing food at camp is no joke. Friendly woodland critters will surely pay you a visit and stay a while if you are providing food for them. All food you bring to camp should be stored in the cook shelter ONLY, and kept in coolers or a sealed Rubbermaid tub. The only exception would be food already in a sealed container, such as a can or jar.

Outdoor units do not come with a refrigerator, please plan accordingly.

Coffee drinkers should plan and prepare accordingly.

Groups who are sharing units will receive introductory emails so they can coordinate meals if they want. Please bear in mind that you will likely be sharing your cooking facilities with another group, and will benefit from some advance coordination.
